News of victory over Ga’more spreads quickly through the Whiteraven Alliance, as does the truth of Ta-ba-ret.  Gratitude, elation and celebration are short lived however, as the tone of the Whiteraven territories changes. The King of Tifanue has been murdered.

In Castle Lightguard, the royal banners are consumed in holy fire that leaves their surroundings untouched. Military banners over the many barracks, docks and guard houses fall to ash and are replaced by those of the Citadel and Church of Light. No general order is given; no announcements made, only precise movements with one clear message.

The King is dead, Prince Leopold is an outcast and the Church of Light have seized control of Tiefanue in their absence.

The Arch-Bishop, Roderick Hale has assumed lead of The White Raven council; while his military establish strong points to maintain their holds. He watches from a balcony at Castle Lightguard, overlooking the city; Ashter of the Dawn by his side.

Rather than being welcomed as heroes and sent to their homes across the White Raven Territories, the returning soldiers are greeted by orders of reassignment. The relief soldiers sent over the last few months by the church will remain in towns and outposts throughout the alliance, and the military forces will remain in Tiefanue.

Reports of this outcome spread quickly by Skein Gate.  Responses are relatively slow, but all demand the same thing. Each member of the alliance calls a meeting of the council to hear an explanation of these actions. None are pleased by the reports and the remaining presence of church soldiers, but there is little they can do. An emergency meeting will satisfy their confusion and set things proper once more. . . or so they hope.
