Hey I get this may seem abit off the wall when I ask if those spell are repairable but I ask with some reasons behind it.  So in order to come to this question I compared the Mage Plate and Barkskin spells and here is my reasons. taking into account I am guessing they are making the difference spells with a balance in mind and that protections is a sphere based around protecting your self as best as possible and they are the same level of spell.

1) Barkskin is castable on other targets where Mage plate is self cast only

2) Barkskin says it can not be refit (repaired), Mage Robes/Leathers/Plate does not say that

3) Barkskin has no physical appearance in the spell, Mage Robes/Leathers/Plate say they appear as  semi-transparent Robes/Leather/Plate armour

4) Barkskin is 40 armor vs Mage Plate 30 armor

so to me there has to be a reason why a protection sphere designed spell was made weaker the a non protection spell that does the same thing but better. so with it being self cast only less armor and a has a physical side which doesn't say it can not be repaired. the only thing that seems to make sense is that it could be repaired till the armor is gone there for the spell would be over. I would if you got it refit before the armor bonus is gone then it would be possible but once the armor is gone the spell is gone.

I personally do not have either spell, but if the answer is no could I possibly get some insight into the reasons behind this that would be great even if private

Thanks for you time

I have Bolded and underlined, Target and self cast, amount of armor, physical appearance and barkskins not able to be refit.

Level 7 Barkskin *  Incant: "I invoke Nature to grant Barkskin."

Duration: 5 days or until used

Description: This spell gives the target 40 points of Magical armour. This armour is Magical in nature, always comes off the target first, and may not be Refit. All fire based attacks that strike the Barkskin do double damage. If the armour is Breached the remaining fire damage will carry over to the target.

Level 7 Mage Plate Incant: "I invoke Protection to grant Mage Plate."

Duration: 5 days or until used / destroyed

Description: This spell will surround the caster in semi-transparent plate armour. This plate is Magical in nature and may be Dispelled as normal. Mage Plate grants the caster +30 Magical Armour Points. This bonus armour will not stack with the Mage Robe or Mage Leathers spells but may stack with any other armour the caster is wearing. All lightning based attacks that strike the Mage Plate do double damage. This spell is caster only.
